- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 oz pasta of your choice (spaghetti, penne, or fusilli)
- In a food processor, combine basil, Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, and garlic cloves. Pulse until well combined. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while the food processor is running until you achieve a smooth consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and toss it with the prepared basil pesto until fully coated. Serve with an extra sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
